DA Zoo fic

                                         Spidy and MC

“Put away the menus?”
“Yes sir”
“You clean the tables?”
“Yes sir”
“good now sweep up outside.”
“Yes sir”
“and no trouble or your out of here ya hear that?”
“Yes sir”

It was a cool spring day and in front of the old pizza parlor you could see a male of around 19 sweeping up the front patio of the restaurants. He was tall with long light brown hair tied in a ponytail. He had blue eyes and light wire glasses and wore an unbuttoned red shirt over a white t-shirt and blue jeans, and even though he hated it, on top of all that was an apron with the logo of the pizza parlor. “Stupid old badger. Still can’t decide why I haven’t just quit” he was mumbling to himself “Hey boy” he cursed under his breath as his boss called out “no slacking off. I got plenty of people who could replace you in an instant” he replied with another yes sir as he continued cleaning.

“Dude doesn’t even make that good of a pizza, smells like crap and is cheap as hell” but then sighed “but…there’s no other job around here and I need the money…” He honestly hated working there. Hours where long, pay sucked, and heat in there burnt more than the pizza. But he pushed through it and kept a smile on when costumers showed up.

So the teen just kept working but suddenly stopped when he heard something. It was faint but he thought he heard a scream. He put down the dustpan but still held the broom as he turned to see where the noise came from. He then saw a figure run out of the ally next to the parlor. He couldn’t tell who the person was due to the fact that the figure was wearing a large coat and hat that hid any noticeable features. He would have called out but then the figure fell after getting hit in the back of the head by a large rock that few out of the alley followed by a group of men

“Get up you freak where not done with you” one said as it kicked the figure on the ground. “Damn bitch” another one kicked. Now the person was surrounded by the men getting kicked all over

“Hey” the pizza worker called out to them as he jumped over the fence that separated them “leave him alone”
The men all laughed “get out of here boy this is adult work” the biggest of the group said picking up the figure on the ground by the coat “this freak has it coming”

“I said stop” the boy yelled as he lifted up his leg and brought it down on the end of the broom breaking off the brush part and leaving him with only a large pole. He bent down and held the stick in a fighting stance with the splintered end facing the men.  

When he finished the big man laughed “ooooh I’m so scared” he taunted between chuckled “hey boys lets show this punk how a real man fights”

one walked forward “I got him boss” he said reaching into his coat and pulling out a switchblade and charged holding the blade out to stab the teen in the stomach. But as soon as he got close to him the top end of the stick brushed away his hand as the boy spun around and bashed the other end into the side of the man’s head.

The man was disoriented but soon felt a huge pain in his stomach as the boy had kicked him straight
into the stomach causing him to lurch forward before a dropkick was brought down on his back knocking him out “well” the teen said “wasn’t I suppose to learn a lesion?” he got back into his starting stance “because all I have learned is that fatty here makes a nice boom when he falls face flat on the ground”

“You bastard” one called out before he and another one of the men charged. They were ready to tackle the teen but saw the stick being tossed to them “what the” they both caught it then looked to where the ex-owner was. They didn’t see him but soon felt a powerful pain that only men can feel. They looked down and saw the teen had slid down and punched both of them in the crotch. He smirked and slammed the back of each fist into their faces. Needless to say both fell over no longer moving

He turned to the last man “now I will not harm you if you let that person go” he told him with fire behind his voice. The man dropped the figure and ran away. “Coward” the pizza worker said as he ran to the bundled up person. “Are you ok?” he asked it. there was a mummer but it was hard to make out. So he placed his hand and moved the coat neck down and the hat up a bit to give him a better view if the person.  Suddenly a bundle of long black hair fell out of the hat

“It’s a girl!” he said upon seeing her face. She was faired skin and had glasses on and while she had no make-up she didn’t seem to need it. He tried to wake her but she was out cold. He was about to take off her hat when “YOU LITTLE PUNK” the young man turned his head and saw his boss looking at him with a face as red as a Boston apple.

“Ummmm…..hey boss” he said setting the girl down and looking at his boss “something wrong?”

“What do you think you dumbass.” He yelled at the younger male’s face “your little show out here will ruin my restaurants reputation.” He pointed at the men still on the ground “those guy’s where paying customers and you ATTACKED THEM” he yelled

“But sir-“

“No but…I have been waiting to say this” he got a twisted smirk “Your Fired”
He looked at his boss a moment and took a deep breath “fine whatever” he picked up the girl bridal style “have fun cleaning these guys up alone” he spat as he walked out of the restaurant

When he was far enough away from the shop he stopped and looked down at the woman in his arms

“Well…what am I going to do with you?”

“Hey there he is get him” a voice called out and the teen look over and saw them. Seems the guy he let go came back, and this time he bought a lot more friends….with guns

“Shit” he said as he picked the girl up again and started running. Fifteen minutes later they had arrived at the Teen’s home. It was a small apartment with one bedroom and bathroom along with a kitchen and living area. He laid the girl on the couch and walked to the kitchen making himself a large glass of water “phew….glad I lost them” he mumbled to himself as he regained his breath

“Wonder who those guys where-OW” he yelled midsentence as a he felt a sharp pain in his head.  He held his head and turned around. Behind him was the girl he had saved holding an umbrella. Same umbrella she had just used to whack him over the head with “what I do?” he asked

“Quiet” she ordered “why have you brought me here”

“Because it was either here or let those guys find you and beat the crap out of you” he told her still rubbing his head

“And why should I believe you” she asked

“Well have I done anything to hurt you so far?” he asked as he stopped rubbing his head. Only to be whacked again with it “Ok stop doing that”

“Why you’re just going to try attacking me just like everyone else” she said angrily

“ok why would I do that?” he said “Don’t you remember I saved you from those guy’s earlier?” she just rolled her eyes and took off her hat revealing a pair of white cat ears with stripes that stuck out of her long dark brown hair “so…you’re a furry?” she whacked him again “What the hell?”

“I’m a DA” she said “these ears are real and so are my claws and tail”

“Tail?” he asked confused. She grunted annoyed and took off her coat. She wore a white shirt under it and after the coat was totally off a long white tail with strips could be seen.

“So…you’re a cat girl” again she hit him

“I’m a  Siberian Tiger moron”

“Ok ok I’m sorry” he said “but please can we put the umbrella down”

“No” she said getting ready to hit him again but his time he caught it and twisted her arm around into an arm lock “ok I’m going to let you go. Then you are going to calm down and we can talk this through”

She grunted but then agreed. He let her go after putting the umbrella down on the table “I’m sorry for all this miss. Here let my start over” he held out his hand “the names Spidy”

“Weird name” she said “mines MC” she said not shaking his

“Well nice to meet you MC” he told her pulling his hand back

“Ok now we have that over with can I go?” she said crossing her arms over her chest

“Where are you going to?” Spidy asked concerned “those guys seemed pretty intent on catching you for some reason”

“Those are just assholes who hate people because there different. We call them hunters and they want to catch all us DAs” MC scoffed then pulled out a pamphlet “I’m going here” she said showing him it. “It’s a kind of Zoo where people like me can live and not be attacked by people like you”

He sighed “you know where not all bad”

“Not from my life experience” she told him

“Ok I will take you to this zoo” Spidy said trying to change the conversation

“who said I needed you help getting there” MC said looking offended.

Spidy was going to say something but there was a few bangs on his door then a loud crash. “Found them” a man yelled out and the two could see the men chasing them from before had caught up to them. “You can kill the boy but we want the girl alive”

“Crap” Spidy said grabbing her hand “let’s go” and before MC could argue he pulled her to his bedroom where they jumped out the window landing in a few bushes outside. “Ok not my best plan…” he muttered getting up

“Why don’t we fight them” MC said when they heard a gunshot

“That’s why” Spidy said picking her up and tossing her over his shoulder as he ran through the woods behind his apartment.

Ten minutes later of his nonstop running and MCs complaining and he had to stop and catch his breath. He let her go and set her on the ground “ya know it’s rude to suddenly grab someone like that, especially a girl” she said glaring at him. He didn’t respond as he sat down against a tree and rubbed his back “what’s wrong with you now?”

“That landing kind of hurt me a bit” he said “I’ll be fine in a minute”

She was going to say something but closed her mouth. She realized the reason he was hurt and not her is because when he jumped he made sure she would land on him so she wouldn’t get hurt. “I…I’m sorry”

“What?” he asked looking at her

“I said I’m sorry ok” she turned her back to him “it’s my fault your hurt and I shouldn’t have dragged you into this”

“Well that’s where you’re wrong” he said slowly standing up “see you didn’t drag me into this I forced my way in” he chuckled “if anything you did your best to keep me out of it. I’m just a glutton for pain it seems”

She gave a small smirk towards him “you got something in your hair” she said

“I do?” he said pulling out an oddly shaped plant “oh ya these are from the bushes we fell into….what where they called…”

“Birds of Paradise” MC said

“You know these?” he said “never really knew much about plants”

“These are my favorite flower” she explained

“Well then you can have that one” he smiled and checked his watch “well we still got a plenty of daylight, so I think we can make it to the zoo if we hurry”

“Ok why are you doing this?” MC asked looking him straight in the eyes “you have no reason to do this why don’t you just leave. Not like anyone will think less of you”

“I’m doing this for three reasons, one It’s the right thing, two I don’t like what these ‘hunters’ are doing, and three I want to do it” he explained like it should be obvious “now can I see that info on that Zoo. I think I know the way to get there from here”

She handed him the pan flip and muttered a quiet “thank you”

Spidy didn’t hear it as he checked the info on the location of the zoo “ok we should be able to get there in about thirty minutes by cutting through this forest”

They walked a while in silence. It was Spidy who first broke the silence it took him a while but he finally got a conversation sparked with MC. They chatted about shows they like, books, and movies as they walked and soon they got to the zoo

“Well here we are” he said looking around as he walked in with her. He wanted to make sure this wasn’t some kind of hoax.  He checked with the info desk about what they should do “the woman said in where suppose to head for the Directors office but first we can take a look around the zoo”

“Oh ok” MC nodded as the two started walking around. They saw many types of DAs there and they all seemed to be very happy there “well this place seems nice” MC said aloud and Spidy agreed

“Guess we should see the Director then” Spidy said and MC nodded and headed there with him. When they got there she knocked on the door and a voice called them in

Spidy and MC walked into the office “welcome you two to the DA Zoo” he motioned for them to sit down in the chairs in front of his desk which they did. “So how do you like this little haven for those who are a little bit more…animalistic?”

“Well it seems legit” Spidy said looking over at MC to see if she was ok, she gave him a slight nod.

“well glad you like it. Now tell me how you got here. You both seem kind of ruffed up” The Director asked and Spidy sighed as he told him all about all that had transpired today “wow you two certainly have had a interesting time” he said before making a quick phone call

A few moments later there was a knock on the door “Come in” the director said and in came a two more DAs came in “ah thank you for coming. Spidy, MC, this is Meje and Drenic.” The two smiled and where holding hands “they were two of the first DA’s to join this zoo. They will take MC here and show her around and where she will be staying.”

“Come on MC I’m Meje and this is my boyfriend Drenic. We will show you around” Meje said walking up to MC. The tiger-girl looked over at Spidy looking a little worried. Spidy just nodded giving her a small smile “ok Meje lets go” Mc said following her and Drenic out.

Spidy watched them leave and turned to the director “thank you for the help” he said with a bow “please take good care of MC here. I know those hunter guys seem to want these entire guy’s dead”

The director nodded “well let me ask you this sir. What will you do now?” Spidy looked at him confused “I mean from your story it seems you lost your job and you apartment”

Spidy sighed “well ya….but its ok. I’m sure will bounce back. I always do”

“What if I offered you a job here” Spidy looked at the Director eyes wide “you seem like a sharp man who knows how to deal with people and we need a tour guide here. You could show people that the DAs are not evil like many think.” Spidy opened his mouth to say something but couldn’t find any words to say. This caused the director to chuckle “we have special building set up right next to the zoo for the humans who work here to sleep if they want. You will be fed, given a place to stay” he gave a smirk “and you could see MC every day”

This caused Spidy to blush a bit and coughed turning his head “I…I have no idea what you mean” he just chuckled and called someone in. who it was, was a girl who had long hair….long green hair. She seemed kind of dishelmed and panicked

“Director you call” she said out of breath “yes emerald, you see we have just hired are first tour guide here” he said motioning to Spidy “can you show him around”  she nodded still trying to catch her breath “let me guess Iccolo and Vyse going at it again” she nodded “well leave them be. They will just tire each other out and like the usually do”

“Ya that’s true” she nodded then turned to Spidy “Hi I’m Emerald who are you?” she said with a smile

“Oh people call me Spidy” the other teen said “ya I know its weird”

She shrugged “you get use to weird around here. Well come on I will show you around here” she led him out and around the zoo.

While walking through their Spidy saw many different types of what they call Devious Animals. “This zoo is a big place” Spidy said looking around. Emerald nodded in agreement “well we have a lot of different variety already….oh no”

“What’s wrong?” Spidy asked she pointed ahead of them where two of the DA’s where going at it. One seemed to be some kind of white tiger while the other one was golden tabby tiger “what’s going on?” Spidy asked

“that’s Iccolo and Vyse” Emerald sighed “they…go at it from time to time…and I don’t know how I’m suppose to stop them” suddenly the one she called Vyse kicked Iccolo off him sending him flying right at the two humans. Thankfully Spidy was able to move them away in time “thanks” emerald said watching the two

“Should I and stop them?” Spidy asked her. Emerald just looked at him shocked

“you think you could take them both on? You do know there strength and agility was increased when they became DA’s”

Spidy just shrugged “your point” he said with a smirk as he headed off towards the two leaving Emerald looking shocked and confused

By now Vyse had iccolo in a headlock as Spidy ran up to them “who are you?” Vyse said as Iccolo slipped through his hold and tossed a punch at Vyse’s face but it never connected. Before it could Spidy pushes it off course with the palm of his left hand as he brought his right hand up and in less than a second gave Iccolo four finger jabs with his index and pointer fingers at different spots on Vyse chest. Causing him to go ridged “what did you do to him?” Vyse asked but went ridged himself as Spidy did the same to him

“to answer your first question, they call me Spidy, I’m the new tour guide here, and for your second I gave you both a taste of my spider sting” he explained as he looked over at Emerald “they will be like that for at little while. Need me to help you carry them to their cadges” she just looked at him shocked and nodded “ok”

Spidy told her and set iccolo over his shoulder “guess we can take him first”
Emerald still stared at him “want to lead the way?”

She shook her head “oh ya lets go” she said leading him to Iccolo’s pen first. After they had put him in there they did the same for Vyse.

But when they got there Spidy got a surprise, as he opened the gate who should be there but MC “What are you doing here MC?” he asked seeing her

“This is the white tiger’s habitat” MC said to him “but who is that and what is wrong with him?” she pointed to Vyse

“Oh well this is Vyse your….roommate I guess….and don’t worry he will be fine in after a few minutes” he said setting Vyse down “you going to be ok here?”

She turned to the side “I should be. Why would you care? It’s not like your living here too”

He chuckled “actually I am” she looked at him confused “I’m the new tour guide. I will actually be living….” He looked around “right down that way” he pointed to the direction his room would be

“So…guess I will see you later then…” she said kind of quietly

“ya” he nodded “unless you would like me to avoid coming here”

“no, that’s not it” she said looking down and to the side

“Good” he smiled “well I will let you get to sleep” he turned to go to the gate with emerald “Oyasumi” he waved back before leaving

A few weeks passed by and the zoo grew. They hired new people like Rokuro, there new engineer, and got more DA’s like Chansel the arctic wolf. Spidy had a lot of fun showing people around the zoo and showing them that the DAs where nothing to fear. He also loved when the zoo closed and all the DAs could come out of their habitats and they all could hang out. He would spar with Vyse or Iccolo, play random games with the whole group, but many times he would just sit around and talk with MC. The two grew close and would spend hours just talking about their common interest.

But one day was different. It was midday and Spidy was relaxing since it was his day off, when a van drove up looking for him. “Finally it’s here” he smiled going up to the van. After he paid the delivery girl and smiled “can't wait to see the look on her face”

After the park had closed and night was falling, it was time for all the DA’s to get some sleep. The park was having a big special the next day and they all needed there rest. Spidy had decided to walk MC back to her habitat so they could talk a bit more and when they got there a package could be seen “what’s that?” MC asked

“Oh this is something I got for you” he smiled and opened the package revealing a Bird of Paradise flower growing out of a midsized pot “I would have gotten it to you sooner but they had to ship it”

MC was stunned “you…you got this for me?”

He nodded “ya I remember you saying it was your favorite plant so I thought I would get it for you as…well as a housewarming gift” he smiled as she took it

At this point MC was thanking her ability to never blush as she thanked Spidy “no problem” he smiled “what are friends for” she nodded

“Please return to your habitats” the intercoms flared “The zoo will be locking up in 5 minutes”

“Guess I better be going then” Spidy said

“guess so” she sighed

“hey don’t worry I will see you tomorrow” he smiled and she smiled back “well good night”

“Night” she said before she leaned in and giving his cheek a small lick. MC then quickly ran into her habitat and closed the gate. Leaving a very red and very stunned Spidy standing there

“w-w-what” he muttered totally confused before Vyse came up

“Hey Spidy I know you want to make out with your girlfriend a bit but you got to go now” he said heading into his pen

“She’s not my girlfriend Vyse.” Spidy told him still very red

“Then why are you blushing like Rokuro does when he is around echo” Vyse snickered

“I..I..I have no idea what you’re talking about” Spidy said walking off. Face now as red as a cherry

A snickering could be heard in the habitat right across from MC’s habitat. A snicker belonging to one female wolf watching them with her fox boyfriend, who had snuck into her pen for the night, “Told you those two liked each other” Meje said Drenic to before she jumped on him and started nibbling on his ear. Causing the male fox’s tail to wag uncontrollably
